AI 350: Human-Computer Interaction

Introduction to the design, implementation, and evaluation of interactive software and AI systems, with a focus on the intersection of ethics and computing. Topics include transparent and explainable AI, human abilities, user research, prototyping, evaluation techniques, design communication, and team skills. Prerequisites: AI 250 (co-req allowed AY 25-26).
Course Objectives
- Students should be able to design, implement, and evaluate interactive software and AI systems.
- Students should be able to understand the influence of interactive software and AI systems on society and the workforce.
- Students should be able to identify and address ethical challenges related to interactive software and AI systems in society and the workforce.
- Students should be familiar with the basic ideas of transparent and explainable AI.
